Halmann Vella was entrusted with the cladding works of the façade at Sterling Head Quarters. The splays in the Travertine cladded walls create a light and shade effect which complements well the architecture of the building and its surroundings.
Façade works entail precision and attention to detail to define accurately an Architect’s vision and a client’s wish. An aluminium structure was designed according to an as-built survey. It was detailed to cater for the weight of the marble and to create the splays in the walls and ceilings. Travertine slabs were then measured, cut to size, and pinned onto a secondary structure to form the external envelope.
